Louise Campbell

Louise Campbell was born in Copenhagen in 1970. After graduating from the London College of Furniture in 1992, she returned to Denmark and continued her studies in Industrial Design at Denmarks Design School, graduating from here in 1995. She set up her own studio in 1996, from where she has worked independently since. Focus is on furniture and lighting design, but the studio is increasingly involved in product design and interior design projects as well.

I think her work shows a good use of repetition. And i'll try to incorporate her style of work, into my own. I find the use of patterns very interesting and effective. Especially in the photographs, because the use of lighting gives a great reflection.

Lazy greedy chair

The house spider prefers to hang out in corners.
Here it constructs its web, which exists to catch prey – for survival.
The spider itself, however, prefers to curl up in a silk funnel at the rear of the web nearest the corner.
The funnel is the spiders retreat.

Relief
Low lounge chair made by repeating single slice of laser cut aluminium.

An experiment with repetition. Designed for an SE exhibition. Inspired by small silver bowl in the collection at the Museum of Applied Arts in Copenhagen
